4200 - Highrise Construction II - Site Coordinator

Job Title: Site Coordinator – Highrise
Reports To: Site Superintendent
Department: Construction II

Position Summary

The Site Coordinator will work closely with the Superintendent and Project Manager to efficiently manage day-to day projects and assist with field coordination. This position will be accountable for; updating drawings, documenting field records for quality, production, assist in managing 3-D models. This position will be assisting the Site Superintendent and Project Manager to meet objectives with the Project team, Design Consultants, and Subcontractors.

Responsibilities:

• Assist Project Manager, Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent in project Administration and field work
• Update Project schedule as directed by Project Manager and Superintendent
• Maintain accurate and up to date shop drawings, track status of RFI’s, obtain quotations for Change Notices, update and assemble as-built documents.
• Involved in creating schedule and labour plan for the project
• Play an intricate role in day-to-day safety aspects of the site
• Assist Project Manager in providing Monthly status reports regarding cost forecast, schedule and cash flow
• Log meeting minutes as required by PM/ Site Superintendent
• Assist and implement managing 3D models, perform clash detection, take part in BIM Coordination meetings and assist in developing solutions with the Project team, the Design Consultants, and Subcontractors throughout design and construction.
• Utilize VDC/BIM tools and platforms for BIM coordination, constructability review, planning logistics and virtual reality
• Assist in coordination of subcontractors and attend multiple job site meetings
• Research and resolve drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences and errors
• Conduct quality control activities, inspection programs, and periodic updating of construction progress records.
• Help manage the site Safety and Loss Control Programs
• Prepare Purchase Orders (Pos) as required. Administer billing approvals and liaise with the Project account to facilitate payment draws.

Academic/Professional Requirements:

• Educational and experience requirements include a Construction and/or Business-related university degree, college diploma or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.

Required Skills/Experience:

• A minimum of 3 years’ construction high rise experience.
• Proven people management ability.
• Time management skills.
• Knowledge of high-rise project architectural and engineering drawings.
• Foresight to predict problems before they develop.
• Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control, engineering drawings and other documents.
• Knowledge of Tarion guidelines.
• Health and Safety certificates (WHMIS, Working at Heights, Basics to Supervision)
• Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and clearly communicate with others.
• Enthusiasm for challenging and new initiatives.
